It's not the actual stockings as I like to wear sexy lingerie. It's that they don't last long *pout*. I stopped machine washing them in the hope they'd last longer. Then I thought I had the brilliant idea of washing them in the washing machine BUT on a delicate wash and a very low spin. I've just ruined three pairs.

God I can get 5 pairs of socks cheaper than one pair of stockings and they last a great deal longer!!!

You can buy a little lingerie bag for washing smalls

I've actually thought of the lingerie bag/pillowcase for such items. That'll be the next step. Otherwise it is the washing by hand *shudder*.

Or I'm simply buying crap non-cheap stockings, sigh.

I recently succumbed to temptation and bought a pair of bright neon orange tights from Poundland with the intention of incorporating them into a hastily arranged outfit in readiness for a Halloween type avatar picture....

Unfortunately having just taken them out the packet my plan has been scuppered due to the fact my legs are not 15 inch long.... (the gusset just about reaches over my knees ) sigh,,,,

Yes but stocking compliment your legs far better than a pair of sock ever could.

I buy mine from M & S or Anne Summers. I just put them inside hubby's sock tie a knot in the end and pop in the washer. Still look good.

Tie them up in an old pillowcase before you put them in the machine.

I love hold ups but as another poster said they just don't get more than a night or 2 out of them at the most. But damn they make me feel sexy
