Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Hmmm, now they are pressing to keep the expenses and have an 11% rise.

Will Dave sign this off on this recommendation from the IPSA?

It's not like we can use the Ineos threat to Grangemouth though. We still have to wait until 2015.

I'd define most of them as greedy and poor at their job.

Lets be clear the majority of the mps have other jobs whether it ve consultancy work or bisiness owners so whilst they tell folk to tighten their belts they want the massive increase.

Yes the hours maybe anti social but so are the workers that do night shift jobs for example will they ever get such an increase not on your nelly they wont.

Being an mp is a choice these people decided to do and to now despite all the perks they have they want more its a disgrace.

Come election time how many current mps will have accepted the increase.

There was a while ago effort made to allow recall of mps who for example broke the law or who clearly failed to fulfil role as mp this was abandoned as it would give back power to those who voted them in. It should be implenented now so that it keeps the mps on their toes all the time.

All public sector folk have had 1% increase potentially withdrawn due to state of public finances both the mps and royal family are paid via public purse so without doubt should get same treatment but hey ho folk just accept what they are told.

Until folk get a backbone and stick up for what is to me shocking behaviour to say its great so many foodbanks have cropped up etc fact is poor are having to survive this way is appaling.

If based on fact royals get income increase of 22% and mps 11% clesrly there is mobey in the pot so it should be spread to help the many not the few.

There is a public sector limit of a 1% pay rise at the moment, set by these very MPs, they themselves are public sector workers. There is now a chance that members of the NHS will not even get this as the government “can’t afford it”. If they don’t like what they are paid then they can go and work elsewhere. No I wouldn’t do their job therefore I don’t. I can only see huge problems from all those working in the public sector if this goes ahead. (P.S we don’t work in the public sector, if that makes a difference)

would think if they had any empathy, common sense or morality they would not accept it but hey were talking about folks who by and large have ridden the wheels of their gravy train..

what predictions on the voter turn out in 2015 if they do so..?

and btw if they don't wish to do their job then maybe as Tebbit said get on their bikes..

a zero hours contract or any of the other crap conditions they are happy for others to have would be an option..?

Some very smart said to me this.... They were very quick to go to and independent body about their pay.... But if you made the suggestion about doing the same thing for public sector workers you wonder what the reaction would be!

In this together... If that means pay freeze since2008 and then getting a pay rise of 1% for the last 2

A plague on all the political parties houses

its not them we need to sack its the system that needs a overhaul when they are still paying family members between £30,000 - £45,000 to answer the phone for them (telegraph) then this is wrong.

i do not know of many secretarys on £30,000 - £45,000 a year.

i agree with except for the royal family as they actually generate more income for the country than they receive unlike MP's who do nothing but take whilst attacking teachers doctors nurses police fire service ambulance service armed forces etc for asking for a rate of inflation rise they are hypocrites.

i do not think we need 600 at a proposed income of £74,000 a year plus expenses which are usually paid to wives sons daughters etc when they are asking the rest of British business to increase efficiency and reduce costs they seem to be bucking their own mission statement

I dunno if it includes rent.

Each? I doubt that. I know some MPs have two secretaries because of the hours their office is open (for surgeries etc).

By the same token, some MPs employ family members because they're often more flexible that other staff. Lots of GPs used to employ their wives as receptionists.

I'm sure, however, some do it out of nepotism.

I wouldn't be an MP for double the money but then I wouldn't be a nurse either. At this time when public sector workers are capped, when dissenting on what management offers means the company threatens to close down and put a whole community out of work and when private sector workers have gone without pay rises I don't think this is justified.

MPs have chosen to put themselves forward for election and to do the job. The public sector pay rise rules should apply at this time.

Home counties, commuter belt Tory and LibDem MPs are also facing a backlash from commuters on the cost of transport increases.

Most people won't know that MPs will get a pay rise and certainly won't remember when the election comes around in 2015. No MP will be standing up declaring the pay rise was wrong either.

Offer a 15% pay cut and no pension till you have served 4 complete terms in the house.

Second homes funded pay the state, should have a maximum of 1 bedroom.

Any additional bedrooms would mean no allowance for the home.

No employment of any relative under any circumstances.

Receipts for every single penny claimed.

Any dodgy claims and your FIRED.........

Clock in and out of Westminster.

Failure to turn up without due cause and your FIRED..........

no she employed them one after another and when questioned she replied " i have always employed my daughters and always will"

nepotism exists in all walks of life and anyone who thinks naive however i think you missed my point which is they only pay these rates to their family members if you look at research posts with MPs their pay is far less

take a look on parliament website for facts and figures they are not doing anything illegal however it may be immoral.

parliament is essential in a democratic country however that does not stop people questioning the validity of their MPs after all isn't that democracy in action.

the reduction in MPs is something that was muted in the 1990's yet still there has been no movement imagine a business taking that long to implement change they would go to the wall.

"parliament is essential in a democratic country however that does not stop people questioning the validity of their MPs after all isn't that democracy in action.

"

This would be a democratic country if the lying, traitorous fuckwits in parliament actually listened to and represented the _iews of the majority instead of turning round once they have been elected and giving Joe Public the finger and doing whatever they want instead of keeping their election promises.

For example, I don't believe David Cameron was elected on the basis of his promises to legalise gay marriage just as blair wasn't elected on a manifesto promising mass uncontrolled immigration or his promise to resign half way through his term in office to make way for an even more incompetent fat, one-eyed scottish prick!

an 11% pay rise, has a definite smack of double standards.making a mockery of their,we're all in it together, catchphrase.

the government have seen fit to use the financial crisis,as a reason to ignore independent authorities recommendations, when dealing with others salaries, why should it differ when dealing with theirs.

when MPs stood for election, they knew exactly the salaries they would recieve, and the rigors the job entailed, and yet,no one forced them to become MPs,they made a choice.

so to accept this wage rise, would be a sheer hypocrisy,of which i have no doubt, they are more than capable.
