Sorry everyone, but I'm having a moment

basically I bought a new fridge freezer a few years ago. It all worked fine.

As my chest freezer wasn't full I switched off the freezer at the bottom and left the fridge in use.

Now I've filled my chest freezer so I switched the freezer on, however; its giving me a warning code.

The book says it's thermostatic error

so the alarm is going off

Now typically I'm 3 weeks outside my warranty. Who do I call?

This is really daft, but do I search for a freezer technician or an electrician or what?

So silly question time, what do you call people that fix freezers?

No I am in no way asking for someone to fix my freezer for sexual favours,

I think I'm having a 'moment' but it's one that's lasted all day

This may sound daft but have you tried turning it back off for a couple of minutes and on again? Preferably at the socket.

I tried turning the plug socket off for 10 minutes then back on. I've found the alarm silence button, so it is switched on right now, but its still showing al

and it isn't getting cold

I've ordered a load of frozen food ahead of christmas and it's being delivered saturday morning

see if you can google, type in the problem. Ive done it lots of times when things have gone wrong

Best thing to do is phone who ever the warranty was through and talk to them. If you tell them that you aren't happy that it has only lasted a short amount of time and no where near the length of time a freezer should last.

We have done this on our fridge/freezer and tumble dryer when it was outside the warranty and got them fixed for free

If you're only a few weeks outside your warranty give them a call and explain to them its not fit for purpose. Read the sales of goods act and tell them that you'll be writing to trading standards, they will either replace it or cover the cost of repair.
