For any body out there that likes to watch porn on like there is a virus out there called the police virus. It will bring a huge pop up to say your details have been recorded and if you have a webcam installed it will take your picture. It will ask you to pay 100 pounds to remove the details be warned this is a scam. They rely on you panicking and paying the money. It is nothing to do with the police.

We had this on our laptop the other week and it stops you from doing pretty much anything on it as it blocks the whole screen.

We ended up restarting our laptop to an earlier date and running a scan to get rid of it.

Fuck me.

That doesn't even sound like a scam...I'd pay it!

There was a similar virus a few years ago.

To get rid of it I started in safe mode and ran my antivirus, then malwarebytes and then a registry cleaner. Fairly easy to get rid of but frustrating when you're first infected.

South West London / Surrey

We had this months back on our old computer.

Can't believe so many people fall for it and actually pay.

There are lots of walk through guides that tell you how to remove it.
