"Poor kid. They made him wear a dress"

it wasn't a dress, it was a christening gown. I'd of had my son in a gown if I could've afforded one at the time, but his dad and I were in college at the time.

OMG people!!

The christening robe was a replica of the one worn by Queen Victoria's oldest daughter.

The amount of tourist trade, including overseas online orders more than cover the cost!

I think it's sad when you see countries that show the 'previous residence of a now gone royal family'!

Our Royal family are the best known in the world! They bring in way more than they cost.. and the Queen has worked harder in her life than any other person I can think of, and is still going!!

Be proud as Brits of what we have.. if not.. bugger off

Don't worry you`s north if the border will be free of us south of the border soon, and with a bit luck we then operate a border crossing point to keep you that side

O please ............he is in line to kop for circa £1b............his training was paid for y the tax payer so he could play at work for a year or two. The cost of training a RAF pilot is £400k how that money could have been spent!

"OMG people!!

Be proud as Brits of what we have.. if not.. bugger off Please show me the figures that confirm the Royal Household actually contributes to the exchequer more than they cost? "

Gimme a mo to go mug the Chancellor of his old red briefcase Not sure we'll find the truth in there mind lol

"Er hello as a person who has seen active service I have right to my opinion as do you that's why I did what I did........I will never bugger off from my home as I love it dearly I just do not think the royal family are relevant."

In that case, did you not swear an oath to serve Her Majesty, her heirsand sucessors?

The truth is that the income from royal patronage is unquantified as it cannot be. Given that most tourists visit royal sites when they are unoccupied would suggest they would come anyway. As for the queen working hard........my aunty has just finished work at 76 she cleaned a pub, gave birth to 5 children all of whom are upstanding citizens.........so Iknow someone who actually worked and I mean worked harder than the queen!

If servicemen and women took that seriously, they wouldn't have to use cops and Special Branch wallahs to protect the Windsors.

And Special

No its a good point. I took the schilling as I had no other form of work. Most of my cohort did the same. The Royal Family are so far from day to day military life you would not imagine. Its a job which gave me a profession! On the William front I have known Army pilots that have done 25 years.............not three on Anglesey!

He was in the RAF for three years. Its tokenism.

A waste of Brylcreem."

they could have spent the money training someone who was actually going to make it a career instead of a propaganda exercise.
