For the first time since leaving school i am actively taking part in organizing a charity event.. i've been given the roll of 'raffle prizes'

The event needs the raffle to fund the venue for the main event. How do i approach this with local business's who i am hoping to obtain prize donations from? Do i tell them their contributions are being used to help fund the venue and are not going towards directly raising money for the cause or do i say nothing?

basically need to raise £120 so the jumble sale/teddy bears picnic/band and disco can happen.

should add that obviously once the £120 through ticket sales has been raised, everything over that goes directly to charity.

the band and disco have been supplied for free

Forget funding the event through the raffle. Go straight to companies and ask them for £120 or part there of to fund the event and give them advertising on tickets, adverts etc.

Get a local business to sponsor the event....then as poster said up there advertise them on tickets etc
