Lonely? Turn the radio on.

Apparently there are millions of people all over the country who only have the radio for company and can go days, if not weeks, before they talk to another human and most find this very difficult to cope with.

Now, I've been single for 26 years and I also work full time where interacting with people is paramount so I RELISH going home to silence and my own company.

I've even lied in the past about not being able to visit family at Christmas due to working, when in reality, I'm at home, alone, wallowing in the sound of TOTP Christmas special and eating my body weight in roast potatoes.

What about you lot, lonely? Alone? Good or bad?

Alone (but for the cats) and love it...I occasionally wouldn't mind company only when my sciatica is bad and I can't move, soon as I'm back on my feet that slight desire buggers off again. Haven't been properly lonely since the last 2 or 3 years of married life

Can't say I get lonely, though I do miss people who have passed away.

With you there Caz, we all could do with someone when we're not at our best. In fact, the only time I've ever really been lonely and felt it affected me negatively, is when I'm in crowds. And I'm no shrinking flower either!

Up until last year I always lived with someone. I used to hate it, but now I find that it's growing on me.

They are days where I am glad to have pulled some random of here, just to have company.

Today I won't physically talk to another person.... But I don't care anymore

Depends, I do like my own company but do also enjoy just chilling out with others.

I was in a 4 year relationship with a man in the forces so in that respect, a relationship where he was around 24/7 probably wouldn't suit me especially as I like my bed to myself but do sometimes feel the loneliness of single life as a result of my choices.

Christmas is ok but often get stressed by having to be surrounded by up to 15 people for 2 days so try to sneak off alone for an hour or two.

I guess everything is good in moderation for example if you didn't have a job where you interacted and spent days alone, evenings alone wouldn't be so much fun.

Does that make sense?

Alone and usually happy with it. Select company is good, in small doses, but I need a lot of my own space.

Even, (sometimes especially), family I can only be with for short periods before I crave solitude.

I enjoy living alone most of the time but sometimes a bit of company would be nice, never felt lonely though.

My youngest recently went back to uni and it took a little while to adjust back to living alone.

I do however love my independence and the fact that I can come and go as I please, eat when I like and watch as much sport as I want!

Just the sofa snuggles that are missing.

I'm with you on that one. By the time I have time to myself, I'm happy for it. By the time I have to interact, I really want to.

I can go about a week without people or radio though and sometimes it hurts, sometimes it's a blessing.

Alone with a cat and a dog, and I too like to come back to a

without any noise except for the cat demanding her food.

Usually spend Christmas on my own, prefer it that way, and I shall go camping with the dog as per usual.

Loner here who like my own company.
