There seems to be a lot of threads that have alternative motives or so people think. What are people's thoughts on this? Do you think it's annoying or can you sympathise that on here some self advertisement is needed and okay?

I personally do not have a problem with a look at me post as long as the conversation is interesting.

Yeah but your good to look at so no one minds if you do a look at me post, however no one wants to see my fat ass, but seriously people post for all sorts of reasons, to rant, to seek attention, approval from peers, boredom, mines usually boredom in all honesty 6 weeks off work my minds numb with boredom, I even searched old threads hence my earlier Sydney university posting

It may seem that way but I have read so many comments on threads that say to get noticed post something on the forum, become involved, make comments.

Users do this and in some instances get criticised, the expression "Damned if you do, Damned if you don't" springs to mind.

It may seem that way but I have read so many comments on threads that say to get noticed post something on the forum, become involved, make comments.

Users do this and in some instances get criticised, the expression "Damned if you do, Damned if you don't" springs to mind.

I do agree with this as it now gets to the point if you haven't been on the site for a while, every posting gets questioned for being look at me. I have been guilty of this myself to be honest but certain postings have been genuine and out of boredom lol
