Think you have to buy one that's designed to be used in a lorry. ( bloody expensive I expect )

You can buy one just for HGVs.

Halfords have them,other than that try using the avoid section to miss low bridges etc.

yes put your height length weight etc into the settings if it will let you but and a big but they are not infallible from experience they can and do send you along height and weight restricted routes

some can, most cant.

always use a sat nav with common sense anyway.

i use a car one in my truck and have never gone wrong yet, so you dont really have to buy one for a truck.

why do you ask?

got some work on but dont have a lot of ready cash.. think i may get by with car one as lorry is an 18 tonne ridgid and use common sense (what little i have jibber jibeer lol) .. any makes/models i can go for?

i use a garmin nuvi 205 and havent gone wrong in a artic yet.

as said, any will be fine as long a syou keep your wits about you (mind, if i was doing europe or that london, then i would get a dedicated one)

i have a truck sat nav, that i carry with me and have used when im going somewhere im unsure of.

but mostly just stick with the car one and a little bit of sense

ooo eeerrr!!! london!? nooooooooooo i keep away anyway as a driver. been there as a passenger in a taxi and would hate it in any vehcle.. ta for advice peeps... ive a few days to get sorted.

Some Tom toms have lorries, cycling or walking in the settings.

There is also a specialised one called truckers mate. I think it's by A to Z

very expensive that one have a look online for updates to tom tom also have alook on trucknet .com you get them in the clasifieds
