Wearing holdups

I usually only wear hold ups for the bedroom and maybe 30min before getting there but I'd like to wear a pair for an evening out. I am paranoid they will fall down though.

Any tips for keeping them up? I do have some stayput gel stuff but haven't tried it yet.

Never had a problem or had to use/add anything to make them stay up.

Find a brand that suits you and stay up and stick with them.

I wear hold ups 99% of the time as stockings do not stay in place!

no matter

get the ones with wide lacy tops.. marks ones.. dont moisturise legs.. They dont roll its the narrow bands and if they too small that makes them roll down

Marks and Spencer hold ups are great. They fit well and don't roll down or even move.

I've worn them all day at a wedding. For an evening out and for play. And never had any trouble

I've always struggled as I've big thighs, I was buying from Bondara and Ann Summers and spending a pretty penny on them. However I recently bought from Primark and they've stayed up all night, through clubbing and naughty fun afterwards.

if holds up roll or fall down it usually means they don't fit right or they are old and the gels coming off in my experience

I have found a pair of good fitting hold ups don't move at all

marks and sparks I swear by their's

I've found Ann Summers ones tend to roll over at the top. The M and S fishnets are good and obviously don't ladder. The opaques are ok but I prefer the John Lewis ones for the elastic.

You should only wear hold ups for a certain amount of time( cannot remember how long!), cos of health reasons ( but cannot remember what those were either!).

I had one lose its elasticity when I was on a date, but thankfully I had boots on so I waited for my date to go to the bar and discreetly rolled both down inside my boots .

the best thing to use is a roll on type glue, you can get it off ebay. irish dancers use it to keep their socks up, and i guess with how their legs move about it will be good for licht stockings.

hope this helps x

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

M&S, Asda, John Lewis.... I don't think it matters where they are from, I've never had the problem of them falling down.

As previously said by some, as long as they fit, you have washed them properly if they have already been worn........ and of course you have washed yourself properly! The gel needs to stick to something, so if it's sticking to a thin layer of skanky old dried surface skin... well some of you know the results.

I wash mine by hand and don't use conditioner. Also as mentioned no moisturiser on the thigh.

I'm a size 8 but due to large thighs I always buy medium now. Matelans lace top black opaque are excellent and only £3.

Cheadle

I would always say, first make sure you get the righ size, and second, make sure you follow the washing instructions, the silicone bands on hold ups will lose their hold over time anyway so don't expect more than a dozen or so uses, a good six strap suspender belt with metal clasps will make sure your stockings stay in place at all times, the cheap plastic clasps that are found on most modern lingerie are prone to failure.

My tip is to always buy 2 pairs of identical hold ups and put one in a small plastic bag in your purse in case of emergenices.

hugz n stuff, xxx

I wear Ann Summers ones and they stay up. Have to make sure all the band is completely flat against your leg, if one bit is curled over even slightly the rest is sure to follow. I used to worry about them but have worn hold ups for a night out many a time.

The M and S fishnets aren't tight. It's the soft rubberised band at the top which does the trick. Really comfortable to wear.

If they start to slip then putting a little water on the silicon strip can help.

The oils in the moisturiser will negate the stickiness of the silicon and make them more likely to fall!

Jayne uses hairspray.

Shower, but dont moisturize, spray top of thighs with hairspray, and put stockings on.

Cheap narrow-band stockings will always roll down, we buy the wide lace top ones.

M and s XL will fit chunky tall thighs

Make sure they are tight up your thigh, not just over your knee...

Wearing boots and hold Ups means epic fall down potential..
