A very non- fab subject sorry, funerals.

Should you attend your partners uncles funeral who you only ever met fleetingly years ago.

I've decided not to. Especially as there seems to be some inheritance involved and other non relatives in a similar position to me are ready taking a little too much interest for our liking.

Talk this over with your partner, if they would like your support then by all means go and be the dutifully partner. Feck the inheritance

I wouldn't go to the funeral of someone I didn't know, to me a funeral is a way of saying good bye to someone and showing your last respect, I really can't see how you can do that for someone you met once in passing years ago

No my partner wasnt close to him and doesn't need support. I suppose I'm a bit concerned how I will be viewed as other non relatives (nephews of the deceased mans wives) are quite nosey women and like to poke their nose into everything. It might look odd to others that I'm not there.

You do whats right for you, personally I wouldnt give a fig what people thought as you and your partner are the only ones that matter to you.

I understand that you may feel uncomfortable attending if you only met once in passing but how close was your partner to his uncle or are you close to any other family members?

Sometimes I feel it is appropriate to attend not always to say goodbye but to show support for those grieving. In many communities it is appreciated but obviously depends on the family.

As far as the inheritance matter goes then try not to over think it as it is not under your control if your partner gets anything and you also cannot control people judging you!

My mate went to a funeral of someone he'd only met 5 or 6 times the other day. I thought it was a bit odd as he wasn't one of 'us' as such. I didn't go.

I'd stick with other people's advice here, mull it over with your partner.
