So I've taken a bit of time out of fab and I was seeing a girl, a long time friend who I've known for a few years. Usually it's me who gets pied off by women so think there cold heartless bitches(jokes).

I live in Teesside and she now lives in Leeds so every weekend I would make the hour/hour and half journey down and spend a night or two which was good.

She's a nurse so she works shifts and I work 9-5 now we always made an effort to speak but I'd say only 30% of the time we weren't together in person was spent communicating and half of that we would be arguing and then we would always end up bickering when we were with each other. We argued Saturday night and out of stubbornness (because I was in the right) I nearly spent the night on the back seat of my car, then this morning while complimenting her it turns in to an argument because she didn't believe what I was saying etc so I ended things not because of the argument this morning but because of the situation as a whole.

It's so bloody difficult to do what you don't want to but know is right!

How do you deal with it?

I don't have relationships or when I do they're D/s so I do as I'm told.

Women are always right by the way, even when we're wrong we're right!

Nice to see you back on here! Did you not consider just having a break and letting things cool off and then seeing how you both feel? Absence makes the heart grow fonder as they say!

see, OP, thats where you went wrong.

even i know this and im shit at relationships lol.

you say you only spent 30% of the time while you were apart communicating?

how much time do you want to chat with someone for, especially if there are arguments involved?

did she never come up to you at these weekends?

its an opportunity for you to find someone local to you and to be happy without her.

as for handling break ups?

i dont know.

never had to.

my marriage ended by mutual agrement (sound like a football chairman lol) and this one is going pretty darn well so far lol

Thanks!

It's been playing on my mind for a while and I've tried to help the situation by trying to defuse situations but they just still end up in arguments, it's the first relationship I've had where it's been like this and it's not for me I'm too laid back for it

By communicating it was mainly text, the occasional phone call after her shifts or on her days off.

She did once or twice but we had to stay at her parents which wasn't an ideal situation.

Tbh I think out of the whole situation I learnt that I'm not ready for a relationship and long distance doesn't work, which I should already know as I had an ex who lived in Australia but that's another story lol men will never learn haha

it didnt work for you, fair enough, but long distance can, and does work.

we have been together 3 years, and still going strong.

we communicate by text and phone calls, so it can work, its whether you both have the desire to make it, and obviously neither of you really did.

Definitely this

And if you can't make it work, then it's better to end it than stay in the wrong relationship!

Big hug x

I agree... Best to chill it while there's a manageable amount of pain and hard feelings...

When these turn nasty it can really hurt and destroy some of the more special thoughts you may be able to keep.

It can cut so deep but I'd always rather love and set free than not love at all, or not know when the time is right to loosen up that string a little.

Not easy I know.

LDRs aren't for everyone. The distance is a factor that can just destroy a relationship.

You're better off just "dating" someone. That way there's no real commitment.

Women aren't always right. We just let them think that otherwise they'd never shut the hell up

That's all I'm concerned about, the friendship but it seems to have gone, hopefully the raw emotion will die down and we can salvage something

I sent this to a friend when she asked me how my relationship was going, my last one, this is all I could say on the matter, we lived miles apart both single parents and only saw each other on the weekends.

"Well Fooking annoying if you ask me..... the one thing I never missed being single... the constantly being tested, the jealousy about all my friends, the having to explain meself constantly, the having to.lie and think about everything I say just for an easier life, the constant question "who you chatting to?" Cause I left my phone on whatsapp and she can see I'm on it, same with Facebook.... even though I proved it says I'm on when I'm not its just when my phone is on internet, the loss of my weekends not being able to cycle much, not being able to shut out the world in the evenings when my girls gone to bed....."

Lol.

Na I just know that some women won't give up even when they're wrong. Plus I hate to fight with people. There's just no real point.
