After many many months of sounding out "MUM" to my 14yr old daughter this morning I was finally rewarded with "MUM" being said back.

Ok it wasn't to my face but it was spoken and it may be many months before it happens again but I know her voice box works.

I just wish that every word learn't could be retained so I could move on to the next, but Autism never works the way you want it too.

Still I very happy that this has happened and will keep plodding on.....Onwards and up!!

It's great that you spend so much time working with your daughter in this way and that you have been rewarded for it.

Congratulations! I imagine that has to be heart warming and tear jerking at the same time. C is a teacher who tells me of similar stories everyday. They make me half want to cheese really big and sometimes well up. Good luck!
