"Do you worry at a problem? Worry about life the universe and everything? Worry and don't know why? " Yes and no. Yes massively about most things (life/universe) but it is so intense it leads the worrying to almost a point of apathy, and a subsquent no.

"What's the point in worrying. Though I'm a little worried England turn up to a different game and the ghosts of 40 years ago haunt the Wembley pitch once again. Bye bye Brazil, bye bye " Don't they know the way to Wembley? They were there last week.

"Do your worries become self-fulfilling? What do you mean lickety? X" Do they end up happening because you worry about them? Like...er... worrying a bf will dump you and him ending up dumping you because you are a worried, neurotic wreck.

"Do your worries become self-fulfilling? What do you mean lickety? X" As an easy example, if you worry that you can't get up and speak in public then you get to the point where you stop yourself ever speaking in public and it becomes as self-fulfilling prophecy.

"Do your worries become self-fulfilling? " No, once I woman up and deal with them they often turn out to be no problem at all.

" Ah I see. Well I only truly worry about my boy and he's bound to get in the odd scrape here and there but that's unavoidable I suppose. But I worry he will get something terrible wrong with him. Again that will happen wether I worry or not. Wish I could stop myself worrying but I can't

Teach them to know what's dangerous and to avoid that but to take risks. I have seen kids really fucked up by parents that excel at worrying about their children and how it has affected those children.

"Do any of you worriers meditate at all? " Not really sure how. Seems like trying to sit still and think of nothing - two things I am not very good at! I'm definitely going to give yoga a try though.

" You has helped me a lot. I have been looking at mindfulness too. My Buddhist nun friend says that the easiest way to start meditation is to just to spend a minute concentrating on your breath before going to sleep. You build up and then work on doing that without going to sleep. I know that making my mind blank helped me get better when my Lupus first started. I couldn't walk or use my hands very well but I kept pushing myself to get better and it was making it worse. Learning to switch off then made a real difference.

"Do any of you worriers meditate at all? " I have relaxation exercises I was taught at hospital. They are ok for not so bad moments but the really bad days they don't get through the wall of worry. I go from a walk sometimes to tire myself out so I can sleep but adrenaline wakes my brain up

" A minute concentrating on one thing? Can I start with ten seconds? And what is this sleep thing you mention? " That's the thing - the meditation helps you fall asleep and remain asleep. The sleep helps you sort out your emotions and then you begin to worry less. It's not easy - when I'm really stressed it takes a while for me to remember to do all of this but once I do I can feel the results after just a week.

"I practice mindfullness my cpn taught me Would you recommend it? " yes, i guess so but it took me awhile to get into it but then im not good at concentrating. There are some good books. Its quite easy once you get into it and it is theraputic. In fact it seems to be the new in thing therapy wise as a few people have mentioned it to me

It struck me as being quite like Buddhism. I have also been looking at its use with children and young people where the effects appear to be more immediate in addressing their worried behaviour.

"Do you worry at a problem? Worry about life the universe and everything? Worry and don't know why? " My phylosophy in life is "why worry about something that you can do nothing about, what will be, will be" but this way of thinking has recently been challenged when my daughter (who is currently volunteering in an orphanage in Peru) was bitten by a dog! Rabies is not widely spread where she is but when i received her email saying 'Mum, I dont want to die of rabies', my blood and heart suddenly stopped..what was I to say? what could I do to alleviate her concerns? Should I play it cool and be reassuring mum? or should I freak out and get her out of there (yes she would have had to fly to another country) and get her the vaccin jab? All things considered (I called the doctor and the UK helpline) and taking into account the circumstances of the bite, I decided to comfort her, try and remove her fears in order to calm her down and all is well, as of today! Now the little bugger wants to visit lake Titicaca on the border with Bolivia...did she have the Yellow Fever vaccin inoculation before she left??? Nope but what are the chances she will get it?...next to none. I am not a worrier for myself but I care and worry for those I love and hold dear. Life is a merry go round...hop on and see where the ride takes you! but be prepared for all eventualities.

"Not bug decisions or at work but I do sweat the small stuff. I worry that people hate me all the time. I worry people treat me like a twat. I worry that comments I make will be taken the wring way. I worry that people will think I'm interfering when I try to be helpful. " Awwwww Evie... We dont hate you All the time...

"I do worry sometimes about upsetting other people through something I have to do. I also worry about my children and their future sometimes. I worry about my elderly relatives sometimes. I worry about my partner sometimes. Rationally I know worrying is not going to make the blindest bit of difference to the outcome... and I TRY not to let worrying affect my choice of behaviour and action. Does this make sense?" Yes. That makes sense to me!
