My favourite hip hop was Public Enemy, NWA and Ice Cube, but out of Tupac and B.I.G, it's Tupac for the melodies and of course for his impressionable film appearances.

The longest overrated at least, like someone already said, the golden age was the 90's (I personally think late 80's to early 90's).

But I hate most metal since it became popular and the same happens when everything becomes totally commercialised. It just becomes generic, imaginationless market packaging.

im sorry i cannot agree my friend its take influences from every other genre by the way of samples (plagiarism) to produce something vaguely resembling a tune.

the earliest rap / hip hop commented on social injustices that was around at the time the garbage that is out talks about which birds got the biggest ass whose got the biggest car and how to get it by ill gotten gains.

Both great for diffrent reasons Tupac had raw emotion in his music and that set him aside from other rappers.

For me Biggie was the man best flow ever.

Ready to Die is a masterpiece and as someone said biggie was not commercially viable but you could not ignore his music if you listen to that genre.

[The Notorious B.I.G.:] First things first, I poppa! - Freaks all the honies! (uh-huh!) Dummies! (uh!) - Playboy bunnies, those wantin' money. Saw Ras Kass on stage with Xzibit about 12 years ago at the Leeds festival.

Both excellent.

Both under rated.
