So here in the states October is national breast cancer awareness month. Our gloriously ridiculous media interviews doctors on tv...none of which are women or breast cancer survivors. Seems to me that the experts on women's bodies and women's health should be...now call me crazy here for thinking this....WOMEN.

really?

you dont think a male doctor can have a decent idea of a womans anatomy from spending years in medical school?

im not a hamster, but i have a fair idea what its like to be in a cage, and run around a wheel all day.

if you havent the confidence in your doctors over there, then maybe you should contact your congressman.

they will read your letter as soon as they can be bothered to do something for the good of the people, instead of trying to bring down the government in favour of the rich.

soooooooooo you watch some random foreign language speaking bloke on the news telling you about the world, but dont trust a trained professional, simply because he doesnt speak the way you would like?

you never brought race into it in your OP, but merely sex, so the questions still stands.

why is a male doctor less qualified to talk people through what to look for when checking for breast lumps, than Mrs Miggins down the road?

I would think that if a male and female doctor of equal schooling and experience were available then the female doctor would be the obvious choice for speaking on a woman's body, to me, would be the female doctor.

After all would you more likely buy a car from somebody who is only very learned on the car's functions or somebody that has driven that exact car thier entire life?
