There is a lot of situation comedy on the television.....most are repeated though I grant you.

Swings and roundabouts. A few years ago there was hardly any stand up comedy on telly short of late night stuff on Channel 4. This will eventually swing back that way, I'm sure.

I went to the comedy club last year - some good new acts but lots I could do better than

I've seen some weak acts, myself. I've sometimes felt embarrassed for the act. On the up side, I've seen some real surprises, like Caimh Macdonnell who was just a support, but managed to blow everyone away. It's nice when that happens

Stand up, is cheap, easy to film, and usually fresh, that's why it is popular for TV

i wrote a 5 minute bit of stand up as i applied to do the 'stand up for comedy' thing for red nose day, but didnt get accepted.

would have loved to have given it a go
