"If you've ever had sunburn then that's a similar sensation to having a tattoo. Different places hurt more than others though. My elbows hurt like a twat but the base of my neck was fairly painless." cheers bud, would you recommend anyone in the mids?

" inkskin in great bridge is very good, there's a girl there called Hayley she did my daughters cherry blossom, it starts on her foot, goes up her leg, up her side and over her shoulder the detail is superb, I would defo use her if I had anymore, there's a guy there too he's good but not as good as her from what I have seen of both their work

There's a great studio in Northampton run by a girl I used to babysit when she was a kid. Swanny's in Loughborough is also excellent.

"Check my profile pics, I got a full spine tattoo. It did hurt when he got to the middle of five spine as the skin was tightest there but as many who have had a tattoo may agree, it's almost an erotic kind of pain took 4 hours and cost about £80" I have a full back piece and there was bugger all erotic about the pain, I was actually shaking after about 2 hours how I finished that sitting I have no idea

It also made my head tickle!

Cheers I'm getting full sleeves done, I notice you have tattoo's down your arm, I naturally/genetically have quite a high pain threshold anyway, but does it hurt majorly? What's the worst part of the Tattooing process? Currently I don't have any whatsoever.. Cheers..

Worst part for me was choosing the right design even though I knew what I wanted but worried and researched and put it off for ages. Best bit was finally seeing it done and thinking ... Yay!!!!!

The pain for the most part is bearable and as I said previously some parts hurt more than others. For most people the outline tends to hurt more and that's because there are fewer needles involved and they go slightly deeper. I would suggest that you complete your sleeves over the course of multiple sittings and allow the work to heal properly before having any more done, amongst other things this will reduce the chance of an infection which as well as being painful will ruin the work.

Good info! " I should also add that I find its more painful the next day. The aftercare of a new tattoo is vital. I generally just wash mine for the first couple of days with warm, soapy water. Once the scab has formed I still wash it but I apply Preparation-H (hemeroid cream) too. This stops infection and helps stop it itching. Others often use Bepanthen but the one time I used it I got an infection (probably just me). It is important you don't scratch it, no matter how much it itches...
