Dont you hate it when something goes wrong and a well meaning friend says some banal saying to make you feel better. These are my usual replies.

A bird in the hand - will shit on your wrist

A friend in need - is a fucking nuisance

A rolling stone - will land on your foot

The light at the end of the tunnel - is an oncoming train

The grass is always greener - and still needs fucking mowing

Every cloud - will piss down on you

There are plenty more fish - yeah, sharks!
