little house on the praire

I've just bought 4 big flat mushrooms. £1.35. When we where kids we always went mushroom picking, knew exactly where they where in which fields. Some as big as a dinner plate. My grandma used to make mushroom ketchup. Don't even taste the same now

Somewhere in North Norfolk

That's cos they're bloody foreign mushrooms, coming over here and taking our jobs!

Or something like that. Probably.

Surely I'm not the only one? They are nice in an omelette or with steak, chips, tomato and 7 peas.

I love mushrooms more and more. Make my own pizzas from scratch and take an afternoon to dry a batch of slices in the oven. Put them on the pizza to be rehydrated with the mozzarella oil and the flavours are deliciously intense.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I'm scared of mushrooms. Ones in a tin sound slimy and even worse than the fresh ones. It's not animal or vegetable it's a strange thing unto itself. 14k different ones at that. You never know when one is going to sneak up on you.

Ignoring the mushroom ketchup we were talking about making our own ketchup yesterday. A friend makes one with a bit of a kick to it.

You're not wrong for worrying about them, mushrooms are fungus and many of them are poisonous

Brighton - even Hove!

Mushrooms can be dangerous. Especially tinned ones - if they fall off a tall shelf.

Hey Ryan, why not get some shitake mushrooms and see if you can make something suggestive from them on your plate? Add a generous splosh of tomato sauce too.

I don't want normal ones let alone Chinese shitty ones. Wonder if you can get a tinned variety?
