I don't think your doing anything wrong lol it can be abit powerful for some but I'm sure you will get used to it

When I first got mine 2years ago could only handle it on the lowest setting and now I use the highest. Love my wand

Wands do tend to have this effect - but if you're not used to it then the temptation is to stop.
