"just had the most funniest de ja vous moment, i took my son down to the recruiting office today to join up and it brought back memories of when i joined up in 1985, lost memories were suddenly rekindled word for word. I wonder if my son will have the same feeling when and if he has a child that wants to enlist! Now i just feel fecking old!!!!!! " You're not old! it was 1976 when I joined and my dad came with me, bless, he got all teary! xxx

" Your too old, I served 13 years and came out before you went in let alone your son, good luck to him, I am sure it will make him a better person (not saying he isn't a good person now in fact to want to serve, he is in my opinion already a good person). There will be good times, great times and occasionally life experiencing times that whilst not enjoyable will be good when he looks back at them as I am sure you and I do. All the luck in the world to him.
