I just love a new pen!

Just thought id share with you my secret..

Bring back Woolworths and the 99p ink pen.. ahhh memories of blue ink stained fingers

I love pens and stationary. The crap thing about where I work now is that I can't take my nice pens in to work. All pens have to have clear casings

I am starting a youth work course soon so gonna buy new stationary for that

Its been a fair while now but remember buying all brand new pens pencils rubbers etc for each term of school.. omg was just amazing.

I have my late grandfathers fountain pen which was the only pen I used to sign my name with except on bank cards. A good pen is the difference between writing a letter and creating one . I really miss writing a letter that someone can actually read

I have my dads army 'be the best' fountain pen... i wrote to my penpal who was a soldier in that. All letters these days are typed.

Pah... see if id written that in ink i could just rease it using an ink eraser. They were like magic!!

Heard that it was pigs urine that caused the blue ink to vanish.

Oh my god this has always been my fav subject! Im 28 n even now i cant go in a shop without going down the staionery isle!!

Love purchasing new stationary items! I write using a fountain pen my daughter gave me on the letters I write to her when she is deployed. It feels so much more personal than an email.

Used to love getting a new pencil case full of treasures, I think my last ever one was long blue one with images of stationary on it.

And then there was the metal tin with technical drawing stuff!!

My immediate thought also, the way I was taught to remember the correct spelling was that the E in stationery stood for envelope

I have a lovely Schaeffer fountain pen and a waterman one. I'd love a Mont blanc one bit they are a tad pricey

My friends and I used to have fountain pens at school and used to collect the little balks in the cartridges when they ran out. No idea why lol

Schaeffer is brilliant. Also love my lefthanded calligraphy pen. In the early Fifties my dad used to have a ballpoint with a lady in a bathing suit on it; when you turned it upside down, the suit colour would drop down and she was nekkid. Would be worth quite a bit nowadays

I'm obsessed with stationery. I love finding little independent stationers in new towns, I always have to visit the aisle in supermarkets when new term starts. I'm studying with the OU, and the bulk of work is done online, but I still have to buy new pens and folders and stuff at the beginning of every course.

I like PaperChase and Staples now, WHSmith just isn't as good, least the one near me isn't anyway. The good thing being PaperChase and Staples give me student discount, so my 'hobby' doesn't cost me as much!!

Maybe it was a mistake, letting women study.

What a better place the world would be if they stayed at home, to cook, clean and raise their family.

Crime and drug abuse would be non existent, and no more debt.

Full employment for the bread winner and head of the household.

Happy days. lets hope we can go back.

Pens are like anything else, if its well designed and engineered, the right weighting and high quality materials it can be a pleasure to write with and the quality shows through on the writing. Hence the high price.

Does it show that I used to sell these bad boys

I love stationery.. I have boxes of pens.. and some lovely old fountain pens... My handwriting isn't great but I make and keep scrap books.. different ones for different parts of my life..

Kids all have one on the go too... so we like to use them. I also write to my father, brother and sister... My little sister refuses to embrace electronic mail... As does my father. But I love writing.

I also like to use different pens in my journal... And draw little pictures around the edge.

I love a 'ladies' pen, slightly smaller and fits perfectly in my hand.

I still have the fountain pen, ink not cardtridge, that my Dad bought me when I went to Grammar school. Remember we drove the teachers mad by using turquiose ink, until we were banned from using it

Thank the lord this is a thread about the wonderful world of stationery and not about standing still or being in a traffic jam.

My PA in one organisation I ran banned me from even looking in the stationery catalogue as I would order things she thought were frivolous. I did insist on having a special pen for signing things, but she insisted on giving it to me only when things needed to be signed.

I have a stationery corner at home. Several pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, punched pockets, files and a range of envelopes plus some fancy paper clips, treasury tags, brass butterfly fasteners and some bulldog clips. Plus some stickers.
