We've lost another great author

He passed away Tuesday night in hospital in Baltimore aged 66. Far too young to lose such a great writer.

just saw this on BBC news. shocked. far too young.

Rainbow Six was one of my favourite books, and Red Storm Rising was good. HFRO was the best of his books made into films. will watch over weekend on blu-ray.

Nobody wrote military thrillers quite so precise and thoughtful as Tom Clancy.

Didn't agree with his politics, in Red Rabbit he was particularly scathing about our healthcare system compared to the US.

But I really enjoyed most of his stuff. Not great works but very readable.

Sad to see anyone go if I enjoyed their work.

People were never sure whether he was in the know with perceived threats or terrorists copied his work. (9/11 was similar to one of his stories)

He was a truly great writer
