"They can be considered terms of endearment x"

No to a stranger basicly its used when women are chatting to more than one guy at the same time to make sure they don't call you by the wrong name

Guys use it too in this way .

So in affect your just another hun or babe in a long list if Huns and Babes

Its nsa, what do i need to know their names for?

'hun, babe, sexy, gorgeous, hoty' I use them all. I mix up my own kids names

So I don't have the greatest memory, never get enough sleep and often seem to be a few hours short in a day.

Never had a guy complain when I call him any of the above, either during chat or whilst having a hot steamy session. So I wont be worrying or changing soon.

I'm just curious though, 'no ego' and wants exclusive attention from a lady you are talking to, doesn't sound like nsa or swinging to me.

If I'm dating someone I know their name.

Strange I have no problem talking to women on these kinds of site as that's not my particular problem why would I put up with something I dislike to the point if being put off.....I would not expect a women to put up with something from me she found particularly off putting ether.

Your messages don't quite follow, on one hand you say that they are using hun or babe instead of the real name, because they can't remember the real name. But then you say it can't be a term of endearment because these people are strangers? If they are strangers why would they have known the real name in the first place?

Also not everyone wants their real name using in chat, on another site I use, a lot of people know my real name but it doesn't mean I want them to be using it in front of the people I don't know.

The thing about generalization is they cove the majority and as for the minority they don't care about the generalization as they know there not part of the generalization in the first place .

Only those in the generalization normal complain about the generalization .

Exactly - because your INTENT is warm and caring. That's the point, and one of the reasons I hate political correctness, it's not the word that matters, but the attitude and intent behind it.

Your approach is the correct one. I was merely pointing out it doesn't mean you are "good" and the other poster with the "cutesy" names was "bad".

I find most people respond to informality. They tend to appreciate the "personal" touch. Many patients do not even go by the name they were christened/registered with, and want you to break the formality by asking what they liked to be known as.

OK I say hello using her user name .

If I'm dating someone I know their name.

Its in personal I don't like cold in personal contact at all even for a bunk up if I did there would be no need to use these sites as there are professionals for that kind of service

so, before you know a womans name, how do you refer to her?

oi?

woman?

mrs?

big tits?

OK I say hello using her user name .

Then if she responds I ask her what her real first name is and by the way I tell her mine .

Then at all times when a name is called for I use her name .

Its about being polite I don't refer to work friends or social friends by hun or babe I use there name .

How many of you use hun or babe away from site life ."

i use it all the time.

not so much hun or babe, but pretty much every woman i come into contact with is referred to as babb, unless i know her name.

maybe its a black country thing, but its a term of endearment, not a come on, not sexually.

you may look at is as such, but tis a shame you do, because calling someone something that not everyone else does can actually be a nice touch.

V actually loves it when i call her by her full name, not a shortened version, because no one else ever does.

Oh and by the way people ....I once asked someone no in fact more than one women why they were calling me hun or babe .

They couldn't answer until I said did you pick it up in your dealing with others on here the answer was yes every time.

Now I hate being called hun I'm no ones hun and no ones babe .

I have a name and manners dictate its use at all times just like my manners dictate I call people by there god given name .

Sadly this kind of life makes cynics of some people but that's a post for another day

"Its nsa, what do i need to know their names for?

'hun, babe, sexy, gorgeous, hoty' I use them all. I mix up my own kids names

So I don't have the greatest memory, never get enough sleep and often seem to be a few hours short in a day.

Never had a guy complain when I call him any of the above, either during chat or whilst having a hot steamy session. So I wont be worrying or changing soon.

I'm just curious though, 'no ego' and wants exclusive attention from a lady you are talking to, doesn't sound like nsa or swinging to me.

can't honestly say babe etc bothers me - let's face it, I've been called much worse. you know what really pisses me off though? when someone's posts and profile are peppered with incorrect use of there/their/they're.

particularly when they're all about the mental stimuli

With my friends look at that lovely lady over there lads she well nice .

She would be called a lady by me .

It I was to approach her it would be like this

Hi I'm my first name just had to say me and my mates agree your beautiful .

At that point two things will happen she will give me her name back in a warm polite way or a cold distant way .

But she will give me her name .

Oh and by the way I like to refer to the women who I'm having fun with as miss what ever her first name is when I'm teasing .

"I have a name and manners dictate its use at all times just like my manners dictate I call people by there god given name"

Well OP... (tongue firmly in cheek as I type) I have an education and grammar dictates that it's THEIR name. And while we're at it - god didn't give me my name, my parents did, and as an athiest I would find it extremely rude and presumtious if someone suggested I had a god given name or anything else. But see how easily your off the cuff remark could lead to my taking offence?

I call my friends, kids, hubby and complete strangers sweety, honey, darling etc on a daily basis. maybe you are getting your knickers in a twist over nothing?

Frankly, babe, I'm astounded women even waste THEIR time chatting to someone who's been on the site for over a year without being verified.

God given name? Mine isn't what I was christened, but I do like the name the psychic told me (truth or fabrication is irrelevant as it's pretty ).

Oh,I stand corrected,of course because not one but MORE than one woman told you that was the reason by all means that does then mean the majority of us must for that reason.

kinky land

Even those that know my name call me hon, or kinky, which in a club usually gets a few eye brows raised. When you've lived round notts / sheffield you get used to being called 'duck' and a variety of things. I never see it as either personal or in-personal.

I use hon, luv, sweety, too often. But then I'm usually running or carrying my toddler round and it is the tone that is important.

Essex.

I must admit I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if I'm repeating someone...

I (Risky) also dislike the use of Hun. It was first used locally by a very dislikeable woman but Frisky and a lot of the mums use it down the school. To me it sounds false...

But on here it's shorter and easier than typing a full name and beats " Oi fuck face."

You are factual correct as for my last visit here it lasted 3 weeks I got chatting things went well I left .

Quality not quantity for me I'm afraid so I never met anyone to verify me nor do I intend to.

One other thing I also never message anyone offering my services for the same reason I'm not here for lots of random encounters.

I'm back now as I'm back in the market for a discreet relationship not random hook ups not that I have a problem with those who are .

Each to there own but if I had lets say 10 or 15 verification I could not in all honesty say I was looking for a discreet arrangement or relationship.

I'd have to say I was here to sow my wild oats which I did as a young man and realised that it was not all that if the truth be told
