Just about to get ready for this years BHF Manchester to Blackpool night ride, 52 miles through the night to Blackpool and then - just to make it more of a challenge - we are riding back through the dawn to Rochdale and Oldham.

Start time is midnight, weather is fine so Blackpool here i come!

120 miles we reckon, around 1000 riders heading out but just 3 of us on the return trip. Lots of lights, reflective kit and energy gels should see us through.

Did 130 miles between Liverpool and Leeds last month and that was ok so...

That was tougher than I'd expected, the run to Blackpool was easy - suspiciously easy in fact. The return trip wasn't - damn headwind for the first 25 miles really sapped us. Ive now been awake for nearly 30hrs and have just ridden 110 miles into the bargain.

£150 raised for the BHF though
