What is it with messages being sent with text speak?

Why can't people write a word in it's correct spelling?

Just had a message sent and I quote " U R sxy, wanna fck?"

Grrrrrrr, delete and learn how to spell!!!

Rant over and relax and enjoy a long hot soapy bath

God forbid anyone should have standards when it comes to who they engage with!

Everywhere and nowhere baby

Prefer proper words. Just as easy to type. And easier to read too.

Text speak I think is slowly dying out, as it appears to be hated by both young and old. Of course there are those still stuck 10years ago, that haven't yet realised you don't need to shorten every word anymore - or those so out of touch they still believe its cleaver. But my belief is its dying

However, there's one word I've noticed time and again today - even in profiles correctly spelt - the number of people who don't know that no doesn't mean know. No mean's no, and they need to know the difference.

Be careful please. Quoting private messages on here is against the rules, even if you don't identify the sender, and may earn you a timeout.

In other news, txtspk annoys me too an tends to put me off people.

It would take me longer to type text speak as I would have to really think what leters to use to shorten a word!

I hate it when I get a message that says " how's yous"? .... I mean they have to add letters on!!

I think the only one I like is .... FFS

can handle text speak in a message, as long as its not a long one, just, but i had to slap my nephew not long ago for actually saying LOL at the end of a sentence.

Not really chuck does it?

I have an English degree n generally impeccable spelling but I frequently engage in txt speak on the bases that a) I prob send round 80 txts a day n b) I actually LIKE it

For me it equates to when Georgian society engaged in their own clipped patois back in 18th century .

I appreciate many peep DON'T like it but it's all personal choice innit

Nope

Because 'basis' refers to singular whereas 'bases' is plural! And I elucidated TWO examples a) n b) .

I KNEW someone would fall in2 the trap sooooo congratulations on that one lol it was thee
