how to break the cycle

Never been the best sleeper but for the past month I've been waking up at anywhere between 3.30 and 4.30 every morning. I'm permanently tired and grumpy. I've tried everything I can think of no caffeine, turning electrical things off, writing things down, etc.

Any ideas to help me get a decent sleep?

Try melatonin 5 milligram. It helps you sleep. its natural BC your body already produces it just doesn't produce enough. Just take one pill 30 minutes before bed.

Also try a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow.

Try to get some physical exercise during the day, even just walking can help.

Yoga can make a big difference too so consider joining a class.

Good luck.

I stupidly ate a bag of cinnamon coated peanuts late lastnight before I went to bed.

That kept me up for hours.

Paint your room. Take Piriton and Night Nurse after having a great sex session, then watch a party political broadcast whilst reading War and Peace and counting jumping sheep in your head whilst waiting for the paint to dry.

If that don't work then you are Screwed.

At least that will be twice in one night! Lol.

I listen to chilled classical music. It seems to wipe my mind clean before I go to sleep so I don't wake up still worrying about things.

I recently went through a bad breakup and I went through a phase of having 'what if' conversations in my head all night long....

With everything that's happening in my life I have huge trouble getting to sleep, I've tried most of the above, but in the end I had to go for sleeping tablets from the doc.

I only take them when I have had a few nights sleeplessness, it seems to break the cycle, allowing me to enjoy a few nights of normal sleep before it starts again. But I hate taking them cos it takes me longer the next morning to feel awake and . not wooly headed.

You need to be grounded,

If you cant sleep or wake up, simply put one foot on the floor, you will drop off in minutes, and your foot always ends up back in bed.

( don't try this if your in the top bunk)

is this why its easier to fall asleep sat on the sofa than in bed .... Or an I just being gullible

I had a mouse in my house...was terrified to put my feet on the floor, so broke an awake in the middle of the night cycle I had gotten into....
