MANCHESTER

I am an HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE fan of classic fm.

Former ITN anchorman John Suchet has just informed listeners on his radio show that Angela Merkel has won her third term in office making her the longest serving female in Europe female leader since a certain lady who is NOT for turning.

In an follow up to my previous group post I congratulate her and her party. I don't follow German politics but I am told she's very much an 'motherly figure'...

Anyone follow German politics?

Mostly it's coalition politics and she is very good at arranging and organising coalitions with differing views

Ha ha! Seriously?! Makes me wonder how many coalition governments are in power in Europe at the moment?

I'm thinking there's deffo an feeling of people wanting to do what they think to change the landscape of politicians. I, for one voted (Well you can't vote for this but I hope you know what I mean) for an hung government in 2010!

She is the power of European politics and I'm sure a lot of world politicians breathed a sigh of relief that she is still in charge.

She is popular in Germany as she is a strong and steady option and doesn't allow herself to get bullied by other nations within Europe.

We could do with an Angela Merkel in this country instead of the yes men we seem to have who have no political balls to stand up for their beliefs and ideals but instead sell their souls to foreign and international money men.

Indeed. I'm still angry about the tuition fee increase despite graduating 3 years ago.
