We are laid in bed with the windows open and can hear the crashing and hammering from the dump ( recycling centre)

Could be anything currently played on Radio One for all I know .

We came home from work the other day and my oldest son had one of the music channels on tv .

I am under instructions to be less grumpy so rather than turning the tv over with a brick I ignored it.

Half an hour later I thought that it was a modern and crappy version of Prog Rock as the track was lasting for ever , nooo , it was the umpteenth act that all looked the same ( tits and teeth and zero talent ) to virtually the same beat !

I am soooooo glad I grew up in the seventies and eighties .

Pink Floyd , The Eagles , Rolling Stones , T Rex, Mud, The Sweet , The Human League , Erasure , New Order etc etc.

Their music is still being played over and over but this modern shit, the pap for the people , is here today and forgotten tomorrow .

A few manage to buck the short shelf life trend , ie Amy Winehouse , Adele etc with their talent but they have to fight through the dross .

the band... dogs ate my dildo so I am old school and I thank the universe my kids are teens now and I don't have to suffer the spongebob song anymore... now its just emo metal and grand theft auto sound effects I have to suffer

Emo metal ... oh my god!.. I've never actually heard it but an impression of how it might sound entered my head fleetingly ... you have my deepest sympathies.

On the up side, I once visited an emo forum to see what it was all about. Curiosity got the better of me, followed by a sense of mischief - I ended up getting banned for my first and only poost which was their depressing music thread, in which I posted a youtube video of "Happy Talk".

it really Happened and they left the remnants on the lounge floor... my 16 year old son was mortified and scarred for life when he saw it.
