We used to take apart old prams and use the wheels and bits of wood to make go-karts. The kids today don't know what they're missing!!!

Did anyone else do this?

When I was about 7 my dad built me one with the little box bit on the back for the person to jump in after they had been pushing you. we had loads of fun going down the hills in the park on it but we called it a buggy.

A Secret Hideaway In the caravan of love

We used a roller-skate with a book on it.

Bridgwater - Somerset

Old pram wheels and some wood, great fun.

Shouldn't think modern buggy wheels are any good at all.

Kids don't know what they're missing.

We used to call them trolleys and if the grass at the bottom of the hill didn't stop you you'd end up in the middle of the main road good job there were a lot fewer cars in those days !

health and safety will not let you build one these days, but i loved that feeling of speed and out of controlness.

of course barely touched 20 mph most times, lol.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

A couple of school friends made a six-wheeler that looked like a Scarecen aroured car! You looked through a piece of a light louvre and were nailed in!

They launched it down a long hill and had a brother following in an HB Viva, the idea being that if things got nasty the Viva could pass and act as a brake! They went so fast the Viva couldn`t catch them and they had to roll it down a bank to stop it from crossing a busy main road!

It was your post that made me think of it!

We had a little hill that we used to have races down.

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

We made them at school in the 70's and they were called proxy carts. Made one with a nackered wheelchair's wheels on the back, that was well cool
