Currently got a `95 Land Rover Discovery I`ve had it for about five years now got about 160,000 miles on the clock and still going strong and is the third Land Rover I`ve had. Still got the other two in the garden - a `67 Series 2a which is currently having a V8 fuel injection engine from an old Rover SD1 put in it, when I get the chance to finish it. The other is an ex MOD Range Rover which I`m not sure what I`m going to do with!

My first car was a "hand-me-down" Austin A35 van from my Dad!

Renault Megane Hardtop Convertible

Bought it new 1st Sept 2008 changing it in a few months.

Have loved it especially in the summer when you can take the top down but I don't really do enough mileage to get the best out of a car.

2 years and 5 months old I have just done 4315 miles from new.

I change my car every 3 years and they have never done more than 10,000 miles this one will probably do less than 5000 before I part ex it.

It's blue - automatic or manual depending what setting you prefer to drive it in.

Lights come on when it gets dark, windscreen wipers are automatic detecting water on the screen (even squishing a fly sets them off) it has cruise control, I don't know why it needs a driver really

Oh and it's metalic blue as seen in my pictures on here

My first car was a Riley 9 and that was in the days before a Riley was considered a classic car.

It had a pre-selector gear box which meant that, at traffic lights you had first gear engaged and second selected. When driving in 4th you would have 3rd selected ready for instance acceleration when needed.

Hmmm lots of taste there. A man after my own heart. I have RV8's in my blood. Beautiful engine. Apart from V8 LR's and RR's, I love my MGBGTV8 !

Healey 3000. Now we're talking. A mate had a TVR 3000M a while back, sold it,bought and restored a Tuscan, sold it and bought an MG Midget and restored that. A sucker for punishment. Still, I've rebuilt two Landies, one with a 4.2 efi, and my MG is shortly going 3.9efi, (a genuine RV8 one rather than a RR one.)

The RV8 is the higher compression engine, so is much more suited to the MG than the low compression RR unit (its built for low down torque), if you want crazy power and aren't frightened about reliability you should be able to pick up a TVR V8 (flat plane crank version) out of an older rotted chassis TVR pretty cheap.

Up North :-)

Well always wanted a drop head E type but for a nice one I would have to sell my arse and that isn’t going to happen but the Healy is lots of fun apart from the exhaust cooking the passenger foot well.

Still fancy one of the mad TVRs made in the last few years as they look awesome!

I do agree, the TVR one would be nice. I have toyed with the idea of the 4.2 engine too though. All through an LT77 box, as the original MG box isn't strong enough of course.

Some of the 4.2's had a nikosil type cylinder lining, you have to be very very careful to do a comprehensive compression check on all cylinders if you were considering one of those.

If the engines ever been cooked its basically scrap,

Well I have to admit that the experience of a big Rover V8 pulling like a steam engine and sounding like the best thing this side and the other side of heaven is often more intoxicating than sex. You don't want a car radio to get in the way that's for sure. It is pure magic and awesome in terms of "smiles per gallon" too.

Yes, but I am running one in a Land Rover at the moment and it is fine. And another in an LSE. The one in the LR, I pulled out of another LSE a while back. We thought it had porous block syndrome but it was only air locks and blocked injectors. All sorted now and sweet as anything. So I have two good ones, wahey!
