Hi, does anyone know if i can part exchange a car without the V5 certificate as i think ive lost it. Im going to have to ask DVLA for replacement, but im worried about long it will take to get back, and i can't part exchange without it.

think you will find no one will talk to you without the V5?

Have you found the MOT and any other documents?

Insurance?

The registered keeper is not always the owner so your V5 isn't proof of ownership but I doubt a dealer would take your word that it's your car.

It doesn't take long to get a new V5 though, perhaps 7-10 days.

Do you know if DVLA have a fast track system to get a replacement quickly - even if you have to pay more?
