Remember those dull dismal days and cold nights brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Well winter is soon coming back and soon the clocks change once again.

Thermals at the ready wee willie winkle hat for bed time wooly socks on water bottle at the ready.

De'icer to hand scraper shovel in the boot of the car.

High gas bills ££££££££££.....talk about doom and gloom.

Never mind I am writing this thread from my sun bed in the Maldives thinking of you all.

Was over in Florida a week ago. 96 in the sun and 100% humidity.

Quite looking forward to the snow an the cold. That probably wont last long tho.

Be wanting to be back in the sun after another week in this damp weather.

I've ordered my bags of best house coal that will keep my cottage in the woods warm n cozy over the winter... I burn logs too but they do burn v quick

Changed the oil, coolant, brake fluid and gearbox oil in my car, just got to get the winter wheels balanced and fit them (doing that later). Everything else is business as usual...

If you suffer with SAD get a alarm clock with a SAD light and a daylight lamp by where you sit and as much fresh sir and natural daylight as possible. Hope you have a cold but sunny winter.

Bring on the snow, as I will have to stay at home , due to only riding a motorbike. There will be no way of travelling the 30 miles to work in the snow and ice.

I don't mind winter.

I have to work outside so it can be dire at times.

But lets look at the positives:

Stockings are back

Getting closer under the quilt

Ladies in boots & jodhpurs.

Cosy cottage with a log fire

Hot tubs

Warming each other up after a cold day out.

Not such a bad time of year really

it's about now that I start to regret choosing a German car and getting flashbacks to being stuck on ice, on a hill top car park, late at night and nearly sliding off the edge of the car park and down the long hill into Holmfirth

.... made it off after an hour if anybody was concerned how it ended

We are actually looking forward to it this year, long summer with little ones being off school.

Looking forward to some family time snuggled on sofa watching movies with the kids.

Shovel in the back of the car

Water bottles fills with de icer in the back as well (nothing like running out half way through a long journey)

heating oil already purchased at low summer cost

Closed the front door curtains last week for the first time since spring

The gardener will be sorting out the beds in the next few weeks

Radiators bled

Hope the real winter takes it time...

Learning to drive and although im not test ready im not far off.

Public transport is dire in winter... And gritters are only focusing on priority routes due to cuts..

And the fake Xmas pressure to buy has already begun...

As someone who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder, the nights drawing in and the turn in the weather heralds the start of Vitamin D, daylight bulbs and ensuring that I stay positive and focused.
