''Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green

Strawberries sweeter than any i've seen....beetroot purple and onion white, all grow steadily day and night....

theeeeee apples ripe, the plums are red, broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed''

so its harvest festival time....what delights will you bring from the back of your food cupboards???

(oh and if anyone else used to sing the song above - tell letsbe cos he thinks i made it up )

Never heard it sorry

We did ' we plough the fields and scatter the good seeds on the land'

Or something like that

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's not one we did. Harvest Festival was in church and it was

We plough the fields, and scatter

The good seed on the land,

But it is fed and watered

By God's almighty hand;

He sends the snow in winter,

The warmth to swell the grain,

The breezes and the sunshine,

And soft refreshing rain.

All good gifts around us

Are sent from heaven above;

Then thank the Lord,

O thank the Lord

For all His love.

It was in the hymnal but I can't remember it's number. 218 was my favourite hymn.

As swingers we don't really want to be harvesting the products of the good seed do we?

Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

Harvest Festivals is the name we give to Bridget Jones type knickers round her because "all is safely gathered in"
