Do you ladies still like a guy to be well mannered ie:.

Opening a door for a lady.

Changing a flat tyre.

Standing up when a lady enters a room.

Or are we in an age when equality means we are equal men and women so manners can go out the door !!!.

I recently had to travel to London on business on the train and so many guys just sat there not moving with women standing up......disgraceful behaviour or maybe its just me being old fashioned !!!.

Why should they stand up for someone who is physically able? Women have legs too. You should only stand up for someone who is struggling to cope for whatever reason. It should have nothing to do with gender.

Opening doors is also simple good manners. I do it for anyone regardless of gender.

I like a mix lol I like being independent to some extent but the odd door opening for me is nice.

I would think it rather silly if a man jumped to his feet just because a woman walked in the room.

I don't like the selflessness of the thought that a woman can't change a tyre to be honest. I got taught how to do it at school and have had to do it on a couple of occasions.

As for the train. I'd like it if someone gave up their seat but that's just because I'm lazy not because I think it good manners. The only people I'd expect to see seats being given up for are pregnant ladies, the elderly and the infirm.

Also manners should go both ways.

If you have paid for a ticket you have paid for a seat, this should be taken up with the supplier.

Maybe then things will change.

I would always give my seat up for a disabled, or infirm person, weather they are male or female. or for a pregnant woman.

There is a minority movement amongst some of the ladies who see gentlemanly good manners as patronising.... As its a risk, either way, I chose to maintain my high standards...

I always hold a door open while she carries the week's shopping in....

Disagree with the first statement. You have paid for carriage not specifically for a seat (unless you reserve a seat obviously

There is a big difference between good manners and being patronizing.
