If someone can't string a sentence together without swearing it puts me off

For me it's uncouth and not an attractive personality trait

Yes it does for me, I dont mind odd swear word but when it sounds like you have tourettes I dont like it, nothing against people who have tourettes as they dont have a choice of what comes out of their mouths

Some people have the knack for it and it sounds okay.

Some make me cringe .....

Some look twats.....

There's an art to swearing. A bit like comic timing.

I read somewhere that people who swear tend to be more honest.

To me, it doesnt bother me if someone swears. I wouldnt really judge a person based on it. I would much rather judge a person by their behaviour.

...but thats just me.

Time and place makes the difference. A bar full of footy fans and I couldn't care less. Out with your mom and dad and your kids then totally different.Although it seems many so called comedians rely on swearing much more than genuinely witty and funny comedians of the past.

If it's done around other people, especially children and the elderly, then yes, it bothers me. But if it's just heard by one person or a group of people who won't take offence then that's fine.

I work with kids so I'm used to saying sugarlumps, flaming Nora, etc, but can swear like a sailor when in the right company!

It is a shame when people can't have a perfectly decent conversation without feeling the need to swear constantly.

My old dad hated swearing with a passion and would always say a peson who swears lacks the intelligence to use the correct words.

We never ever swore in the home....or god help us.

I'm quite a casual swearer, think it comes from working with blokes in industry (and prison) most of my life, my convo is often peppered with fucks and twats...however, I can and do rein it in depending on company and Blimey O'Reilly is my epithet of choice around ankle biters

I never swear and don't like hearing others swear. Not a lot I can do about it though, unless I want a smack in the mouth.

It's funny, when I was growing up my Mum NEVER swore, but my Dad would say bugger, bloody hell, etc. Now I'm comfortable swearing around my Mum but I can probably count on one hand how many times I've actually sworn in a conversation with my Dad. He still apologises if he says anything stronger when he's d*unk

It depends who where when and in what context. If someone does it all the time its not great but that's just some peoples vocabulary.

it is funny when someone who never swears lets rip and fires off a long string of completely absurd profanities. other than that, the occasional word where it feels right and serves a purpose. nothing worse than walking out and about and overhearing loud mouthers deliberately swearing for attention

Hate hearing it in front if kids, was in the queue for the swimming pool yesterday and a delightful woman was shouting at her kids, one line was "will you do as I fucking say". Her child was no older than 4 ! she didn't have the intelligence so see the irony in her statement

I've unfortunately heard the phrase "stop fuckin' swearin'" shouted at a child On a par with a whack from the parent followed swiftly by "will ya behave, hittin' ya brother!!!"

Heard a lovely parent shout at their son "Doesn't any cunt listen to me?" What a charmer. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have children.Oops.It's their human rights though isn't it?
