So....the Financial Times is reporting that EMI are looking for someone to buy the Abbey Road Studios they they bought back in 1929......seems the brand name is worth more than the building......can't see what the fuss is about myself.....just a recording studio

.

It is in quite a posh part of North London I guess, however, I agree with you that the building is not great to look at.

if they sell the brand name with it (and let's face it...any buyer will want that too)....then the figure could run into tens of millions

The zebra crossing down the road is far more famous than than the actual studio. The Beatles recorded 90% of their albums at Abbey Road and The Abbey Road Studio website has a webcam trained on the crossing 24/7. The Studio & Crossing are featured on many London Tourist Guide maps and Sightseeing Tours often take a trip to Abbey Road to see the iconic crossing and it would be a shame if either were to disappear.

Oh that's ok then. It'll be pulled down and the land redeveloped to build a day centre for muslim clerics down on their luck. Can't possibly have some old BRITISH building standing there as a reminder of when British music was the centre of the music world.
