So breaking news is he has been moved to a secure mental institution. Apparently as he is losing the plot and not eaten for a month.

Call me cynical but I suspect he has only been moved so that he can be force fed. He was on hunger strike (allowed in prison) as wanting join normal prison population. Now moved to hospital where it is illegal to starve oneself.

Just let the fucker starve!

Not in a mental hospital as he is deemed unfit not of sound mind to make that decision, wheras im jail he is perfectly entitled too

Wasn't aware he even had a plot, considering his penchant for acting like he's a character in Grand Theft Auto, running around throwing hand grenades at people.

He'll be the type of person that can thrive so long as he can keep his reputation going, probably why he wants to be in general pop.

Very grim future for him either way.

According to the news held at Strangeways but wanted to be transferred to Full Sutton....

"Cregan, 30, is now in Ashworth maximum security mental hospital after being moved from Strangeways jail in Manchester.The father of one was put in the hospital wing at the jail before his transfer yesterday after refusing food.

It had been thought Cregan, serving four life sentences, would be moved to HMP Full Sutton near York, after his trial in June.But he remained at HMP Manchester while co-defendants were sent to the Yorkshire jail."

slowly dying inside, not being able to do the normal things etc we all cherish..

as for wanting his eye gouged out, no let him see the sky he wont ever walk freely under..

let him look at his visitors as they walk away to exit his prison, his child growing up etc..

My brother and sister in law are both police officers and I can remember how much this guys crimes affected them and their colleagues.

I say, just let him suffer and die in misery. He doesn't deserve to be kept alive at our expense...

The Mirror report contradicts the report I posted:

"One-eyed Cregan, 30, is now in maximum-security Ashworth Hospital, where Moors Murderer Ian Brady is serving his sentence, after being moved from HMP Full Sutton near York.

The father-of-one was put in the hospital wing at the jail before his transfer yesterday after going on hunger strike in an effort to force a move to Strangeways prisons so he could be nearer his family in Manchester, and in protest at being held in isolation from other prisoners."
