Me too! Especially now when they will be paying compensation to the abuse victims (quite right that they should be compensated). They say it won't be coming out of the license fee but it so bloody will.

So do you still have to subscribe to a service to provide the signal in addition to this? if it's mandatory for everyone to pay the licensing, why would money even spent on TV advertising?

So people would pay for no adverts but then look up really funny ones on YouTube?

I think I'm confused (and wow, ignorant in my own little world here )

The TV license pays for the BBC channels and radio as there advert free, the other tv stations are self funded through advertisements. And yea for some stupid reason, its mandatory and if you don't pay for it you get fined

Lol. Explaining TV license to people is hilarious."So you have to pay £££ a year to the BBC. Who decide how and where it is spent. Currently being put to one side in expectation of numerous million pound compensation packages regarding very appallingly badly behaved TV personalities in the 70's &80's. They knew at the time but did nothing. What's that you say, you don't watch BBC! No one does but if you don't pay they will bully the life out of you until you do!. Oh yes it terribly biased and left wing too. Enjoy.

When I first moved into my house a few years ago I didn't have a TV for a few months and a guy came round a couple of times to see why I didn't have one. Never heard of anyone getting a fine but I'm sure you get one if you don't pay

An answer. A record number of people were prosecuted for havinbg no tv licence. Over 180,000. One in ten crimina,l prosecutions in 2012 were for this heinous crime. Has that answered your question?

For our American friend....

ALL sexual crimes against under age people in the UK is carried out on BBC premises by BBC employees.....ALL of them!

And.....the poor old British people are having to pay for it!, it's a diabolical liberty?

And....all said sex crimes are being carried out by card carrying Labour Party members.

It's enough to make you emigrate....honestly it is.
