GUM Clinic

OK, this one might not run, but we will see.

I went to the GUM clinic yesterday - just a routine check up, something I do every 6-10 weeks to check everything is in order. No reason for it not to be, but I take my sexual health very carefully.

The nurse (because I'm too high risk for a HCA to see me) was lovely and didn't shirk at the bruises I have from the weekend or the number of sexual partners. Swabs all done, ring up next Monday for my results and its all good.

Whilst I was there 2 things happened that I was really pleased about, 1 being that I was put on the Hep B vaccination programme and I was given a condom consultation which means I am entitled to 20 condoms a month free (and they are latex free!)

Does anyone else have good experiences from their GUM clinic? Like I said, I'm not sure if this will run but sexual health is a really important thing in the swinging community.

The GUM clinic I use is awesome, I'm totally honest & the are never shocked or judgemental in anyway.

Can't rate the one I use highly enough and encourage anyone to go. The free condoms also save you a fortune.

Mine is also very good once they know you're a swinger. I go every three months whether I've been playing or not and I also take advantage of the free condoms.

I've already had my hepatitis injections due to my job but they did offer and also offered boosters should I need them.

I should also say that the nurse had no problem getting my vein for a blood test either which is uncommon as I've got really bad veins!

Back next month for my hepatitis injection again (which stings like a motherfudger)

The HCA did look really rather shell shocked when I told her what I did and said she was too junior to deal with me as I was high risk.

The nurse asked me about condoms and oral and I said I didn't use them, she didn't try to lecture me, I said I knew the risks and she said very few people use them.

have been to the one in southampton lots of times and met some nice people.

it was after going there that i found out i had diabetes 2.

its better than going to the hospital when you are ill because they are much friendlier.
