Think I've read all the Rebus books, brilliant.

But the tv folk made a major cock-up when they initially went with John Hannah as Rebus, nothing wring with Hannah as such just completely the wrong age. Ken Stott was spot on though!

A new Rebus book I believe is in the pipeline

Not sure what the poster meant about John Hannah's age to play Rebus.

What age is John Rebus meant to be

OK just double checked that one

The character DI John Rebus would be 60 in 2007 when he allegedly retired

A couple of more books have been published and he is still going strong

at 67

So yes casting John Hannah at 53 this April was a bit daft

Not a big fan of Hannah I must admit.

Read just about all the Michael Connolly books

Harry Bosch is a Los Angeles version of Rebus

The Lincoln lawyer books are awesome too.

When is the Harry Bosch Tv series due out?

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Good books, naff telly.

I really like Stuart MacBride - similar style of police drama - he has Logan McRae and its set in Aberdeen and the north east. Love reading knowing the places, but a damn good read even if you don't know the area.

Quintin Jardine's Bob Skinner is good, set in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Although the last one I read, he was CC of Strathclyde and heading for CC of Police Scotland.
