Judgmental…. ?

Is it such a bad thing?

I have no problem admitting to being judgmental……

I don’t see it as being a necessarily negative trait….

Maybe its just me ……

But whenever I see any reference made where someone resents being exposed to judgement, it suggest to me that person is simply acknowledging they are already aware their behaviour contained the sort of anomaly that potentially is worthy of judgement…

Or meringue

I agree to a point with you Soxy.

I find people accept judgement very readily , even from the most comatose and moronic, if it is a judgement in their favour.

In fact they fair lap it up.

It's an integral part of society. it's how we find our place in that society.

People who claim to not be judgemental or not humans (probably lizard people) or are sociopaths.

However I don't particular care for people who make judgements and then want me to agree with them. They are cunts.

Erm .... OK.... I'm clutching at straws here.... but what happens in a situation where regardless of the truth the fact remains a judgement cast holds valid in the mind of a person whose concluded their judgement based on their opinion….

If someone is fixed in their judgment of me, where time and argument has not altered that, then there is little I can do about it. It's Pride and Prejudice. Something has to change to shift _iews.

If I don't change and they don't change then their belief will always be held as fact by them. If they can acknowledge it's their opinion or can substantiate that opinion with something verifiable then that is a change. It may not change the outcome but I have less cause to see red.

We all make instant judgments. It's a very quick thing and part of our survival mechanism as there often isn't much time to decide between flight or fright. What matters to me is if you convey that judgment and how it is conveyed combined with whether you remain stuck with the first instinctive response or allow knowledge and facts to shape your judgment over time.

I know what you mean. When I worked in a shop I thought it would be better without the customers. When I worked in housing all those bloody tenants kept messing things up. HIV they kept getting sick and some even had the audacity to die before the retroviral drugs became available. I could go on but people, bah! have nothing to with 'em.

I'm very judgemental can't help it but I am, but that said I know I have to then be prepaired to be judged, the best part of being judgemental is the knowledge that my life has been improved when someone proves my initial judgement wrong, I feel it makes me a better person.

Don't you just love soxys threads, I always feel like I've learned something, even if its a new word lol
