Does it exist anymore?

I like to think im a bit old school in this regard, still offer my seat on a bus, Still hold the door open etc.

Do younger guys believe in this anymore

Ps. Hope i spelt chivalry right

I see some things as just courtesy, like holding doors for people and do that regardless of gender. I'd give up a seat for an oap etc, but wouldn't for an able bodied person just on the offchance of a rutt.

Chivalry as you mean it OP is probably an outdated concept from when women were seen as the weaker sex.

Nowadays there is probably a fine line between well intentioned chivalry and unintended sexism.

i still open the door when im going through it for the other person, i still say please and thank you and i will offer my seat on the train and bus for someone who is needs it more than myself

Of course. But i don't assume that every woman will want, or even need me to hold open the door for them. Sometimes, you have to play the situation on a case by case basis.

I was 8months Pregnant and travelling home from work on a bus as I was too large to fit behind wheel of car to drive any longer. The bus was packed as it was rush hour. I stood for over hour being jostled and nudged. I then actually got hit in the tummy full on by a shopping bag and a guy who was Sat down shouted at the person saying how rude and inconsiderate they were. However he still stayed put in his seat.

Chivalry misplaced somehow me thinks. Made me laugh then and still does today 11years later.

I don't think it's a case of chivalry but manners I've always held doors open for people behind me etc but find that now I'm stuck on crutches and struggle with door etc people are just plain ignorant. Not all mind but many people will look and let doors go in my face or push in in shops because they think they can.

Once got screwed at for holding a door open for someone. Apparently I was "asserting the patriarchy's demeaning attitude to women by implying they were unable to open doors" a little later I was also told off for offering to pay for dinner apparently "capitalism was an invention of the patriarchy to make women beholden to men". Worst first date ever.
