I just heard yesterday someone in work bought their first Christmas present this year, with just under 4 months to go till the big day. When do you do your Christmas shopping, are you get it all doe by November, or like me wait for the pay check before Christmas then hope to god that the special item you have seen all year is still there.

The Town by The Cross

I sort of start the Christmas before.

I open all the pressies I get and apart from one or two main pressies from family, I put all the others in a box upstairs. I never want nor need them and I guess it's the same for a lot of other people.

Tons of money is wasted on vile commercial Christmases.

I recycle and give them to others during the year and even the following Christmas.

Really tacky stuff like ornaments you wouldn't give to an enemy or bath additives that smell like caustic soda I give to the charity shop.

It's not ingratitude. I barely own anything but I still have no use for shite.

What I really enjoy at Christmas are true friends and get togethers.

I buy gift cards for my nieces and nephews. They are at the ages where they like to shop themselves so I buy 2 a month all year. I usually buy tickets to gigs and theatre for my parents and sisters so as they come up I'll get them during the year then I just have the food to buy in December. I do write my cards early and then normally put them somewhere safe which means I can't find them and have to write them again. I'm hopeless.

I shop through the year. If I see something on offer I know that a friend or family member would like, I get it. Have so many people to buy for including our three kids, it makes it easier then. Xx

I hate the Xmas guilt trip of groaning tables, huge trees and a happy big family....

with only a handful of presents to buy it can wait til mid December.

I dont feel pressured and I always dodge the office party gatherings. Bah humbug.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I tend to make my Christmas pressies, although the daughter gets one big present that is usually something she needs but can't afford.

I always start in the jan sales. Buying for males and females I decide who around november then pick up small pieces to finish off. I save all year for christmas food. Only the hubby's to buy and I've no idea what to get him. Lol.
