Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Is the Youtube video of the three policemen dancing at Notting Hill Carnival yesterday good for the Met's image?

Were they in dereliction of their duties?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Was a crime in progress nearby? If not, let em dance. Its good for their profile.

If you mean in terms of dancing ability then no. But having a laugh for a minute does not affect public safety.

This is one event that is always heavily staffed by the police.

Can't win can they? If they'd have been stood there in a state of perpetual alert, stamping out any minor infringement like littering they would be accused of overkill. Now they have shown a more human side they are accused of dereliction of duty.

I think it's good for their image...

Doesn't harm to let ones hair down now and then, and as long as no crime was being committed because of their dancing

Then good on them

Yes it is good for their image, the more they can humanise themselves the more approachable they become

southend

There was several reports during the Olympics last year of policeman dancing and posing for tourists. It does wonders for their image, makes them more human, and I think more approachable.

I loved watching it during the Olympics, and I loved seeing the video of them at the carnival.
