Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

We haven't had a musicals thread for a while.

I went to see Top Hat recently and it reminded me how great musicals are on stage.

What's your favourite and the stand out song for you?

So many I’ve not seen on stage yet,,,,,,,, but the Sound of Music is on my to-do list, same goes for the Lion king and Chitty-Chitty

I enjoyed the Sound of Music on stage. The kids don't want to go to the Lion King.

I'm going to try and get tickets for West Side Story - my all time favourite.

I love musicals.

Seen: shrek, blood brothers, rent, grease, Dr Doolittle, rocky horror show, starlight express, Chicago, Joseph, Jesus Christ super star.

All of them were amazing. And I look forward to seeing may more in the future.

I think it was refreshingly different from many standard formats

U might know one other song from it? 'Corner of the sky ' - Jackson5 did a souped up version of it!

I have been really lucky to see loads of musicals in London - my favourite night out xx

I would love to go to see Wicked, and Rocky Horror.

loved We Will Rock You as I love Queen x but I really enjoyed Barnum in the 80's - Michael Crawford played the lead, but they are reviving this - worth seeing.

Did u see Michael Crawford in Billy? Musical based on Billy Liar - think it was mid to late 70s (maybe u r too young I didn't look at yr age oops lol)

I love a musical and will probably go to the theatre a couple of times a year.

My faves have been Chicago, Jersey Boys, West Side Story and Rock of Ages. Priscilla was really good fun too.

I'm going to see Wicked for the 3rd time in October, it's definitely my favourite. The songs that stand out for me are defying gravity ( love it so much had a line out of it tattooed on me) and I'm not that girl. I can't wait to see it again

Phantom is still my fave especially after seeing it this year for my birthday and being at the front centre to see it i was spoilt. Lion king is amazing too and les miserable was outstanding.

"Into the Woods" is a very adult take on a handful of nursery tales. Am I the only one to be a bit disturbed that, in the new film, Red Riding Hood will be a child actress? Or is a very witty script going to get going to get the Hollywood bowdlerisation treatment?

Last week was Sweeney Todd but tomorrow is Guys and Dolls.
