Ryanair, the world’s favourite airlines, today announced that it will introduce ‘Child Free’ flights from October (winter schedule) after a Europe-wide survey of 1,000 passengers showed that half would pay higher fares to avoid other people’s children. The survey showed that a third of passengers (36%) have had flights ‘ruined’ by other people’s noisy kids with one in five passengers (18%) urging Ryanair to restrict the number of children on flights.

Interesting. I can see why people would want that though, a flight can be uncomfortable as it is without someones kids kicking your chair

Well if they think it will get them more money. I would rather spend more for a guaranteed seat and baggage space, but then I would rather swim than fly Ryanair so it won't affect me anyway.

I would like to sit behind the parent who allows them to constantly boot me in the back whilst I try to sleep. Every kick I got would be getting one from me.

I just feel that people that have kids should be in a certain section of the plane. I dont mind the noise or the fact they run up and down. I dont mind them in front or beside me.. I loathe them behind me.

My children would have got such a wallop if the harassed other passengers.

Two threads in one day on children on flights.

Perhaps we should have wholly child filled flights arriving an hour after the flight with adults/parents and carers? That way they will have enough time to collect the luggage, clear customs and stand on the other side of the barrier to collect their kids.

No because parents know their kids are doing it. Not something u can avoid observing is it.

Im too polite i just put up with it but suffer with a bad neck for a few days after.

not a bad idea as we were talking about it in the child free restaurant thread a couple of weeks ago....

lets see ryanair take the micky when the "child free supplement" ends up on the ticket price.......

Ryanair has warned that profits this year may miss its forecast.

Europe's biggest low-cost carrier says that profits may miss or be at the lower end of its range of 570m to 600m euros (£480m to £508m).

Ryanair said there had been a dip in ticket prices and booking levels for September, October and November.

Its shares closed down 11% on the news and other airline shares were hit too, with Easyjet falling 5% but British Airways owner IAG Group down only 1.3%.

People might say in a survey that they would pay more for a child free flight but when it comes to forking out I wonder if they will. Also how do they expect to fill these flights if only fifty percent of people would pay more?
