Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

What are the modern stages of life?

Young people live at home longer but do things that a previous generation could not have done until they left home.

Grandparents continue to work and are not available for childcare.

Some have children a lot older in life.

I had a phase where everyone was getting married and having babies in the same 2-3 year period. Now it's been a couple of years with people dying every couple of months.

lol i can recall an earlier stage of life when grandparents were considered blood relatives and not "childcare".

progress eh? Enough to even make Aaron's grandma weep.

I guess I've reached the age where life stops giving things so readily and starts taking them away....

But thats no reason to stop living...

London

At my age my parents had sold their London home and moved to Preston, my sisters and I having all married, moved to other countries at uni etc.

My kids are still at home!

Why has it stopped giving readily? Did it ever give or do you go out and seek and take?

You're living in a commune of adults now or are they still kids (to you and them)?

Sad though it is, I’m not sure if it’s always a good thing to out-live that process where we survive those people of our generation who life-time we've shared….

I agree. Ours are spread all over the place as well so they seem to feel the loss even more as get togethers were planned, saved for and major events. Now the major events have dwindling numbers, happen suddenly and not as much time is shared.
