I have 19 unread messages at mo and all from guys who can't read profile. How do I know, because I ask for a face pic with first message and there is no pic attached.

Stop looking at your outbox. People get too hung up on read/unread/deleted messages, you don't know if someone has read an email or text message and you don't get obsessed by that so why do people act differently on here.

I don't answer messages straight away as I'm usually enjoying the forums and when you answer the other person replies and I'm not in the mood to chat!

I delete/answer/ignore/comeback to later depending on how chatty/interested/tired/not tired I feel. I also put some that really interest me into saved mail ........... hope that answers all OP (opening poster)

I have loads of messages left unread. I presume its mainly an inbox overload, as women say on here they get hundreds of messages.

I suppose this hasn't entered my thoughts as I'd struggle to understand the reasons for this second message... If you send a message and its deleted for me then it's a complete NO THANKS! But I guess there are some strange characters on here

Unfortunately there's no way of knowing what fruit loop you're going to encounter so most tend to err on the side of caution to enjoy the site how they wish!

I met a friend a couple of weeks ago who had 1057 unread messages in her inbox.

She works full time and there are only so many hours in a day!!

Look on the positive side - unread means they may well read it. Deleted means not!

Our inbox is usually looked at as an afterthought when I've been on the forums or Morrigan has been in chat, so some messages can go several days without being answered. Also when a message is clearly written to Morrigan only we will only look at it when we can be bothered as it's a pet hate for both of us.

Erm....... Probably because they can see if it's been read or not! Or worse still deleted!!

And why should that bother you? If you send someone a normal email you've got no idea whether they've read it or deleted it and you wouldn't get worked up about not getting a reply. I think that fab should get rid of the read/unread/deleted bit on the outbox, it just seems to be a source of compliant.

Just do what I do.. send your message then immediately pop into your 'Sent Inbox' and delete it so you'll never know whether it was opened or not unless the person chooses to reply. It saves your vanity aswell as your sanity by not having to worry about it afterwards. Not that I'm vain or slightly insane or anything

But then again I rarely send messages out about anything I'd consider very important anyway.

All guys should give it a go.. it might even help to tone down things on here after a while? Ya never know!

F... My other half of a couple is away, and I want to talk it through with them, before I / we make a considered decision....

Most read them then bulk delete.

But many things stop me from opening them.

1) I'm not in the mood

2) I read the profile first and it is crap and doesn't really say anything, so I don't expect the message to be much better.

3) I can see the first line, and think Nah feck it!
